SCHOOL DISTRICT 2 HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT B • BILLINGS, MONTANA
Thank You!
A big Thank You! to all who supported me in this school board election. My team pulled out an amazingly close race against an incumbent who first won her seat on the School Board with 69% of the vote. This time, unofficially as of the end of election day, she pulled only 159 more votes than I did.
That said, I congratulate you, Brooke, on your result. I hope to see your name attached to good things coming out of the Board for the coming three years.

ABOUT MARK
Hello! I’m Mark Taylor.
As a retired educator with 30 years of experience, I bring something no other candidate can offer: I have personally worked with students in every school I will represent. I know these schools, these teachers, and these kids.
My background in evaluating educational methods and policy means I am ready to hit the ground running from day one—no learning curve, no on-the-job training needed.
I will work tirelessly to help Billings School District 2 fulfill its stated mission:
“To inspire, educate,
and empower students.”
PRIORITIES
On the School Board, I will
Trust Trained Educators
Empower teachers to teach and motivate students, make curriculum choices, select their own classroom techniques, and choose book selections. Teachers are professionals—they deserve to be treated as such.
Focus on Local Issues
Keep the board focused on what matters in Billings School District 2—not consumed by divisive national culture clashes. Our kids deserve a school board that prioritizes local education, not national politics.
Encourage Engagement & Collaboration
Build meaningful partnerships with parents and community members, because the quality of education in Billings affects the entire community—not just those with children in the schools.

This includes Blue Creek, Canyon Creek, Elder Grove, Elysian, Independent, Morin, and Yellowstone Academy. These appear on the map as the yellow areas that are outlined in green.
When elected as a trustee, I will be representing the individuals and families who live in these elementary school districts.

Vote count on May 5
Wish Us Luck!
[April 27, 2026] The Yellowstone County Election Office reports a 4.38% rejection rate on returned 2026 school ballots. More than 95% of rejections share one cause: voters did not write their birth year on the signature envelope. Montana law requires both a signature and birth year for a ballot to be counted.
The Election Office has mailed notices to all 960 affected voters and is following up by phone and/or email
to help voters complete the correction process before the deadline.
Affected voters should watch for a letter or call from the Election Office, or contact us directly:
Phone: (406) 256-2740
In person: 217 N. 27th Street, Room 109, Billings, MT 59101
“Every vote matters. The Yellowstone County Election office is mailing notices and calling voters directly to make sure every ballot has a chance to be counted. Please check your mail, email, and answer your phone.”
